Apfeleisen ( Apple-irons )

Information on the handling, care and storage of the apple-irons.

Properties:

The apple-irons are hand-made from iron. They serve to restore the individual iron level in our bodies and are also suitable for use in conjuction with particular medical treatments.
The shape of an apple-iron is a mix between a nail an a knife. However, in contrast to a conventional nail, their surface area is much larger, which creates a much better connection between the apple-iron and the apple.

 

Handling: 

Before using the apple-irons for the first time, carefully wash them with detergant and rinse tehm well. Then pierce the apple-irons into an apple wht the sharp side first. If the apple is big enough, the apple-irons can be pushed into it all the way up th their angle. Leave tehm in the apple for 6-12 hours, either during the day or overnight, depending on when you prefer to eat your apple. It is recommended that several apple-irons at the some time. During the time in the apple, a chemical bond if formed between the apple-irons and the fruit flesh, wihch becomes "ironised". This iron can the be absorbed by our bodies weh we east the apple.
The amount of apple-irons used depends on how acute your iron deficiency is. If you use the apples as a general supprot for your iron balance, we would recommend using between 2 to 4 appel-irons. Be careful not to use too many as the taste might be too strong for you and could put you off eating the apple. 
After removing the apple irons wash them with warm soapy water and dry them well so that they are ready for their next use. Please not that it is best to eat the apple before meals ar to clean your teeth after eating it, as the taste may linger in your mouth.

Care:

Over time the appel-irons will rust. This rust forms an intergral part of the process of the apple-irons effectiveness. Therefore it is not necessary to try to prevent it. What is most important is to keep the appe-irons clean enough to use.

Storage:

If the apple-irons are unly used at intervals, they should be cleaned particularly well, and then stored in a dry place and under airtight conditions. Wehn the apple-irons are used again, particularly after a long time in storage, it si natrual for a layer of rust to appear. However, this laxer of rust is "old" rust and it is necessary to remove as much of this layer as possible, using a strong brush. This ensures that the natural processes within the apple-irons are re-established, and any "new" rust that now appears will help to support this process.
