TouchSticks

Taststäbchen

Our touchsticks were developed in consultation with an experienced therapist.

Properties:

The touchsticks are made of copper and are heavily hammered. Copper is an excellent heat conductor and can be used to help prevent inflammation in arthritis.
Our touchsticks are designed to help improve the motor skills, sensitivity and mobility in fingers, particularly during or after chemotherapy or a stroke but, also for fingers that are chronically cold.
Due to the warming properties of copper, these touchsticks can help keep your fingers warm and supple when they are used to massage your reflex zones.
If we carry a touchstick in our trouser pocket it is always pleasantly warm, and is always ready for the following exercises, or simply to play with in our fingers.

Exercises:

Turn your palms upwards and place the touchstick across the middle of your fingers. Take your thumb and use it to roll the touchstick over your closed fingers.
Then, taking one finger at a time, roll the touchstick between your thumb and index finger, then between your thumb and middle finger, thumb and ring finger and, finally thumb and little finger.
Place the touchstick on a wooden surface or fabric surface and roll one of your palms over it and then do this with the palm of your other hand. This exercise can also be done on your thighs if you are sitting down.
Place the touchstick between the palms of your hands with both palms together and roll it up and down.
Place the touchstick lengthwise between your hands and roll it back and forth.
Use the touchstick to ‘draw’ a fan shape from the wrist to the fingers, or run it along the meridians of your hand and arms.
Please note, that it is always necessary to perform this on both hands, even if one is more affected.
These are just a few examples of exercises that you can try out. Feel free to be creative and playful to see what exercise/s work best for you.
These touchsticks are also ideal in particular therapeutic areas such as eurythmy therapy, occupational therapy and meridian balancing. They can easily be disinfected.

Care:

These touchsticks will change colour and become darker with use. To maintain the warming effect of the copper, we recommend cleaning them regularly with a mixture of lemon juice and salt. You can either brush the mixture on to the touchsticks or immerse the touchsticks in it.
Rinse with warm water and dry well.
The touchsticks may only be used for the purposes described.
